Tommy Reynolds

Hardcore Fitness San Diego/El Cajon Bootcamp Co-Owner

Tommy Reynolds is the co-Founder of Hardcore Nutrition - a thriving supplement company, and Co-Owner of Hardcore Fitness San Diego & El Cajon. He is committed to reaching as many clients as possible (in San Diego and beyond) and is passionate about helping people reach their fitness goals. Tommy believes that health and fitness is the path toward gaining confidence not only physically, but mentally.

Tommy moved to San Diego from Sacramento to attend San Diego State University in 2000. He graduated in 2005 with a Real Estate Finance degree. After a few years, he realized that fitness, not finance, was his true calling. He started training clients in 2009 as he prepared for his first NPC bodybuilding show. Since then he has competed in 15 NPC shows and has placed top 5 in all of them. He has also helped dozens of athletes prep for NPC contests with consistent high placings and even overall wins. In addition to taking competitors to the stage through strength and nutritional coaching, he also has numerous lifestyle clients.

Tommy played sports from the age of 6 until he graduated high school in 2000. This is when he found his love for the gym and weight training. He bought his first gym membership in 2000 and now can't wait to train you at Hardcore Fitness.


Haley May

To some, it's just a byproduct of a great work-out, to Haley May? It's a religion. We're talkin' about sweat! She loves to do it - whether it's through weights, yoga, running or organized sports – Haley has been sweating all her life.

Haley May met her business partner Tommy Reynolds in 2013 as her nutritionist and personal training coach for her first Bikini Bodybuilding competition. They are now best friends and Co-owners of two Hardcore Fitness locations in San Diego. Haley went on to compete in three Bikini competitions in 2014, qualifying for nationals in her 3rd show. At Hardcore Fitness, she and Tommy sculpt clients not only for competitions, but can assist anyone in becoming their best self through nutrition coaching and one-on-one and group training.

Prior to opening Hardcore Fitness, Haley May was an instructor and Assistant Fitness Manager at luxury health resort 'Rancho La Puerta' in Baja, California, Mexico. Haley has also spent time teaching classes and managing studios for CorePower Yoga in the San Diego area. Haley has a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science from Pacific Lutheran Univ., and loves to use her background in Division One athletics (basketball and track) to creatively motivate clients. She has also completed several marathons, and is passionate about giving back to kids, teaching kiddie yoga and helping out with fitness camps for youngsters.


Matt Lamar

Certified A.R.T. Practitioner, NASM CPT, B.S. Kinesiology San Diego State University “If you don’t want to quit, you’re not working hard enough. Champions push through.” Matt LaMar’s workouts are unlike any other. You will leave inspired and pushed farther than ever expected. His love for fitness stemmed at a young age through athletics and has grown into a passion for inspiring and healing others. Along with being a group and personal trainer at Hardcore Fitness, Matt is also certified in Active Release Technique (A.R.T.). This, as well as his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, has given him advanced knowledge of the body to help people in and out of the gym.


Anthony Pizano

Certified Personal Trainer (NCSF & NESTA), TRX CERTIFIED, Sports Nutrition Specialist (NESTA), Sports Supplementation Specialist (NZU)

Being an athlete my whole life, stepping into the fitness industry seemed like the perfect fit. Transitioning from red shirting for the SDSU basketball team in 2006, I needed a new challenge and found a new passion in weight lifting. I took it a step further and became a certified personal trainer beginning at 24 Hour Fitness and doing beach bootcamps. I've been fortunate to take it a step further and compete at the national level in the NPC as a men's physique competitor.

My new found passion and knowledge for fitness is something that I enjoy sharing with others around me allowing them to grow and develop within their own fitness journey. I wouldn't trade my job for the world as it's not a job, it's just "another day in paradise" as I like to tell people.

Kailey Rowan

Kailey has been an athlete her whole life. She always knew she would have a career in sports and fitness. After playing two years of college basketball at Sonoma State University she decided to put her focus into the fitness industry. During her years as a basketball athlete she fell in love with the process of preparing her body for competition. The weight room became her second home and speed and agility became her form of conditioning. She became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist upon graduating college, and a year later she moved to San Diego, CA to further her training skills and expand her business.

Kailey is energetically passionate about her career as a fitness professional. She strives each and every day to stay educated and continues to learn anything that will help her clientele reach their fitness goals. She lives the life she preaches on a daily basis, staying focused on her personal fitness goals; fitness is her lifestyle. Kailey is currently owner of KRFIT, the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the San Diego City College Women’s Basketball team, and will be completing her Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration in 2016.


Daniel Ishii

ACPT and strength specialist

Being an athlete for the greater part of my life (soccer, basketball, football, wrestling, and track & field) stepping into the fitness industry seemed like the right fit. After my athletic career came to an end, I looked to find ways to affect everyone from high school athletes to people who are trying to achieve a healthier lifestyle. First I started coaching football, then I looked to become certified as a trainer and that's when the real fun began. I am now going into my third year as a professional trainer and my second year as a strength coach where I've had the pleasure of working with and coaching athletes who have placed in open competition as powerlifters on eight separate occasions; and on a personal level I've been lucky enough to compete at the national championship for powerlifting twice, I have become internationally qualified for competition, and I have collected a few medals in my young career as a powerlifter. What I've learned is that motivation is hard to come by, so find what motivates you and use it everyday.


Michael Laird

Personal training is my dream job, for the past three years I have been employed as a full time personal trainer, however I am still yet to work a day in my life. I moved to California from Australia this past year as I knew this is where I want to further my fitness career, and I have my eyes set on helping as many people as possible. I love working out and eating, as well as helping others achieve a happier, more confident life through fitness.

I grew up playing competitive basketball, which eventually brought me to California to play in college, this is when I knew that this is the place for me and returned as soon as possible. I gave basketball up two years ago and decided to get serious about my weight training and am looking to compete at some point in 2016 in mens physique.
